Just being gay gets you life in prison - having AIDS means you can be executed. Oh, and leaving Uganda isn't enough. Per this law, being gay is like treason. I guess they'd be demanding extradition of homosexuals because I can't think of anyone stupid enough to say, "Oh, sure, I'd love to come home and be persecuted."

Oh, and why the FUCK is it Christian and Muslim leaders only ever seem to agree on the most horrible shit. Yeah, this law is being endorsed by Christian and Muslim leaders in Uganda.

That doesn't even need a smarmy comment. Religious leaders of faiths that claim to be about love are endorsing persecution and government-sanctioned murder - oh, and cutting all funding to AIDS programs as it supports homosexuality.

Christian leaders in the U.S. understandably threw their hands up and said, "Whoa! Back the fuck up there, Sparky! Nooooooo."

This song started out as a potential Deathmøle riff and quickly morphed into...something else. Sort of Fuck Buttons meets Dan Deacon meets dub techno I guess? I don't think I've ever had this many MIDI tracks running at one time before. Your average Deathmøle song has three, maybe four tops.

Anyway here's the song, hopefully you will like it: Weird Methods (tumescent elephant mix)

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately with our last release, and its instability, we were forced to roll back releases. Unfortunately in doing so, it would seem that our notification system has been broken somehow. Our engineers are working on this issue as quickly as possible. We hope to have a patch within the next day, so we can deploy our code and fix the notification system at the same time. Please *bear* with us ;)

Currently all notifications are being queued up so they can be processed as soon as the fix is pushed and verified to be working correctly.

Thank you,

Hey folks!

Some of you may wonder why you weren't invited to Geeksgiving. Our original plans were to rent our church hall and have an open house with gaming, movies, and food. However, we weren't able to make that happen. [info]ruiskafleck and [info]wggthegnoll offered to host the event this year, and while they're in a pretty big place, it did mean we had to limit the guest list. We invited folks from the two gaming groups they were involved with, plus significant others.

We are intending to have an open house for New Year's Eve, if you find yourself in need of a place to celebrate. Our house is small and densely furnished, but we can usually cram in about 12-15 adults.

I've seen enough bad/unflattering/clumsy burlesque now that anytime someone sends me a link to a burlesque video/show that looks "really cool," unless I knew the person damned well, I assume they have brain trauma and delete it.

Today is the Feast of St. Nicholas, which means that yesterday was Sinterklaas Eve. We marked the occasion at my mom and dad's house, with my older sister Krista and her husband Ryan.

There was a lot of Indonesian food - chicken satay, nasi goreng and rice.

And special mugs for the girls.

The holiday figure of Zwarte Piet can be vexing. I think it depends on whether you choose to believe in the "Moorish chimneysweep saved from an unjust death sentence" backstory or the "black-skinned slave used to frighten bad children" backstory.

There were riddles!

And small presents.

Hi, mom! Thanks for hosting!

And, today is another holiday! The Geeksgiving Dinner, which this year is being hosted by [info]wggthegnoll and [info]ruiskafleck.

[info]kores_rabbit runs a mean D&D game!

And the co-cop basement office where we play is one of the best gaming spaces I've ever been in. Big table, lots of chairs, kitchenette, giant white board and variable lighting. Yay!

And lots of monsters.

Alas, I have woken up with a cold. Bleah.

... get gets his pussy hurt because the ever-Christian "Peanuts Christmas Special" was pre-empted.

Oh no. You missed the first showing of how many?

Basically, the guy posts this on a blocked entry on his Facebook - 1600 people saw it. Someone said, "Hey, I'm gonna share this with the world."

Hence why your Uncle Randy is VERY CAREFUL about what he says on Facebook or MySpace.

Other gems from Mayor Russell Wiseman - "...you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different........"

A lot of it seems to be typical angry white male jingoist bullshit. You know, a lotta, "Why them thar muslims gotta leave THEIR country and come to our godfearin' AMERICA?!" Let's ignore the fact that quite a few of the founding fathers had contempt for organized religion and general and suspicion and disdain for the Bible. This is America. Melting pot. All welcome. We have a statue in a harbor up north that says this. We also have a piece of paper we supposedly says all are created equal, you fucking bigot. If you don't like it, work to make things better or go somewhere else - but you don't get to decide who does and doesn't deserve America.

Yes, what a shame that every citizen who pays taxes has a say in how our government were run. I love when people say shit like this. They long for some alternate reality where the "unwashed masses" knew their place and weren't screwin' shit up by voting or taking interest in the government they have to put up with. These people always forget that somewhere down the road their ancestors were part of those unwashed masses and if things had been just a little different, they might still be.

The hilariously Mayor Wiseman is, needless to say, miffed that at least one of his closest 1,600 friends leaked this but let's be honest - if you want something like this kept private, posting it ANYWHERE on the web, especially to almost 2,000, is guaranteeing it's gonna be said.

I'm shocked he didn't drop a couple of, "uppity negro" comments in for flavor.

Now, the man has the right to say whatever he pleases as long as he's not breaking laws on threatening others or committing libel - but part of having freedom of speech isn't freedom from responsibility for what you've said.

Have a great holiday, Wiseman - keep giving the gift of hilarity.

And, oh, hay - I got to use one of my Dynagirl avatars!

Back when radio became big, a lot of comic strips and books were quickly adapted as ongoing series. Superman had a long-running show. Popeye's was a big more brief. Blondie and Gasoline Alley both became successful radio sitcom series.

What webcomics do you think could make good podcast series a la "old time radio"?

Cracked.com never does any research beyond a single source weblink, usually an old news story. #7 on their List of "WTF" Houses was never finished, never even had windows put on most of it, and was demolished in 2008.

Cracked says - "The house contains a garden, ballroom, five-story bathhouse and numerous rooms where Sutyagin's business colleagues could "entertain" various women."

It never contained any of those things!

Anyway.
